I run expire from cron at night. It never seemed to function the same
twice so I added a -v. I got this last night:

inews: No valid newsgroups found, moved to junk
	[a bunch of these deleted]
inews: No valid newsgroups found, moved to junk
inews: core: Inbound news is garbled
inews: rnews failed, status 256. Batch saved in /usr/spool/news/core

I don't understand what happened or how to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
