     I was driving to work this morning when all of a sudden, a little
elf appeared on the seat next to me.

     "I'll grant you any wish you like," he said.

     "Why don't I get three wishes?"  I asked.

     "Because I'm an elf, not a genie!" he said.

     "Ok,"  I said, "I'd like to have $1000 for every day of the rest
of my life."

     The elf thought a minute, then gave me a $50.
