The SAA numbers I can't remember but they are in the similar range (SAA5...). They have I2C bus interfaces and are ideal for your application. They also have the ghost row capabilities and multi page capture. From what I've seen of the other chips from Plessey, TI, and GI the Mullard/Signetics/Philips chips are streets ahead. There is an evaluation board available from philips which is worth getting hold of if your serious. --------------------------------------------------------------------- email to UUCP: uunet!mimsy!{arinc,fe203}!vk2bea!michael _ _ _ _ Amateur | VK2BEA (Australia) ' ) ) ) / // Radio | G4NYV (United Kingdom) / / / o _. /_ __. _ // Stations| NV3Z (United States) / ' (_<_(__/ /_(_/|_
