Krantz) Organization: University of Colorado, Boulder Lines: 27 Well, yesterday I got a water hardness test kit and tested everything and came up with these values (I also tested Ph): Hardness Ph tap ~40ppm 6.6 t1 ~210ppm 7.0 t2 ~320ppm 7.2 T1 is a 29h tank, T2 is a 70 gallon tank and tap water is the water I put in the tank - tap water + stress coat + a little salt. There are several reasons why t1 is less hard than t2 - 1) I got t2 used and the people who owned it previously used well water - even though I washed it there could be residue (it also has a different type of gravel). 2) I used a peat moss filter on t1 a month ago - this might have been a mistake because one of my tetra died (I had 9 - now only 8). Why am I concern about hardness - I was hoping for some baby angles - should I be concern about having hard water - and why would the tank water be so much harder then tap water? | Mail: 1830 22nd street mail: atk@boulder.colorado.edu | | Apt 16 Vmail: Home: (303) 939-8256 | | Boulder, Co 80302 Office: (303) 492-8115 | ------------------------------------------------------------------
