I gave up on plecos after I dropped about four into an established tank
with essentially no ammonia, 7.2 pH, water temperature regulated enough
so that it seldom fluctauted more than about 3% from 72.  I kind of
wonder now if they starved to death, because I've never had more than a
mouthful of algae growing in my tank.  I've heard that you can feed them
zuccini if you cook it a little so it sinks.  Has anyone has success with
this?
