I know this is hard to believe, but when I ran Beta Board I left the sysop page on one night by mistake. SOme fine fellow paged me a 3 a.m. I was silly enough to get up and chat with him. I ran as meaningful a board as I could given the money, time and everything else. Running a board on five floppy drives like Larry and I did meant at least 30 hours a week maintenance. Some weirdness amoung the teens made me shut down, but I couldn't have kept going much longer anyway. Now I sysop a private BBS run for my company's customers, gatewayed to our LAN. Maintenance is a snap. I'm glad you remember the those days of yore. I'm even more glad you're working in COSUARD. I wasn't particularly looking to pick a fight with Nancy, and said what I did out of respect to the higher aspirations of the group. I'm not foolish enough to think that the author of that article would be accepting of criticism, but I'm not here looking for acceptance. I think the undertaking is a lot more serious than the content of the article might imply. I think future articles need be better. * Via ProDoor 3.1 * RNet 1.02: COSUARD Net:COSUARD BBS-Houston, Tx-713-487-3911
