Message-ID: <10219.25B33375@urchin.fidonet.org> Date: 15 Jan 90 23:16:00 GMT Sender: ufgate@urchin.fidonet.org (newsout1.26) Organization: FidoNet node 1:106/889.6 - Bayou Beastie, Houston TX Lines: 10 When pulse dialing, it is very important that the pulse rate and make to break ratio are acceptable to the SLIC (subscriber line interface card) to which you are attached. With many modems, it's easy to out run the phone company. Most Hayes compatible modems use AT&Pn where n=0=39/61 make/break ratio (the standard) and n=1=33/67 make/break. Set for AT&P0 for starters (if possible). The pulse rate is usually not settable. You probably just got noisy. * Via ProDoor 3.1 * RNet 1.02: COSUARD Net:COSUARD BBS-Houston, Tx-713-487-3911
