     Just the other day (1/14/90), I saw (for about the 8th
time) _White Lightning_ on TBS,
with Burt Reynolds, Bo Hopkins, and Ned Beatty.  There is one
good chase scene at the end, with Ned Beatty in pursuit of
Burt Reynolds, and another chase/race scene involving Burt,
Bo, and a cop; one particularly good device which is used is
one car catching up to and passing a train, then cutting
across in front of the train down a road which is then blocked
by the train's passage.  Burt ends up escaping by jumping his
car off a hill into a river, and the car lands on a moving barge.
See it if you get a chance.
