None. Therefore, it has to be there for some purpose, right? But some women don't have orgasms, yet they still have sex and enjoy it. Orgasm is not the only pleasurable aspect of sex. There's lots of things in the human body that (as far as we know) aren't needed (the appendix for one). Evolution usually removes some bodily feature only if that feature is somehow a detriment to the survival of the species (and it encourages the development of features that make it easier to survive). However, it doesn't really care that much about "extra baggage". The female orgasm may just be a side-effect of the male orgasm since the male of the species develops from the originally female embryo when testosterone (have I got the right hormone?) is introduced. >Don't believe everything you hear. After all, think about how much WORK is involved in the activity. I hate exercise, but I'll do that kind of exercise because I *enjoy* it. (2) There might be a good reason for the 1 out of 6 tries: if women got pregnant at the drop of the hat the human population might grow to fast and starve itself out of existence. Evolution no only encourages growth, it may also work against growth when that growth may be a disadvantage to the species (some theorize that death itself is an evolutionary mechanism). -- Chris Andersen (..!{sun,tektronix}!sequent!toontown!chris) Home: (503) 620-4176 | "When forced to choose between two options, Work: (503) 629-8005 | both of them bad, I always look for a third."
