Now this is *REALLY* interesting!!  I'm not trying to make any
sort of judgement about either you or your boyfriend, but those
are two of three clubs in the San Jose area which have a reputation
(and a well-deserved one at that) for being "vulture pits".
The other one is on Steven's Creek, it used to be called Barritz,
but I don't know what it's called now.

Most of my women friends avoid those three clubs precisely becuase of 
the type of men that go there: everyone is "on the prowl" and looking
to get laid.  As one of my perceptive friends put it "the women are 
all sleazes and the men are all assholes".  Again, I'm not making any 
judgement about you, this generalization doesn't apply to everyone who 
goes there.  It's just interesting that you think of those clubs as 
appealing to "quality people".

I've been in DB's three times.  Each time I was there I saw at least
one fight almost break out in the Men's room (someone didn't want to
wait in line or something.....) and all of my women friends got
pestered to the point of annoyance by guys who didn't take "no"
for an answer.

Anyway, I still like the Oasis and the Cactus Club.  Maybe we'll
see you there sometime!!
