Then, I got some real friends In high school I always hung around with the artist types, if they can be so stereotyped, and the one skill I learned from them is how to draw. It an interesting fact that when a person sits down to sketch they don't capture someone's appearance, but the actual features of the face, etc. I still remember the day my best friend (one of the best artists I know) tried for hours to capture the appearance of a very pretty girl in our class, but every time it came out ugly. He finally went up and asked to borrow her makeup. He just did the physical outline of her face and did all the details and color with her makeup, looked just like her. Human appearances, particularly that of the girls in my home town are meant to be deceiving, that's why makeup was invented. I find myself preferring those that wear little or no makeup. It makes them seem less phony somehow. Same thing with perfume. If a woman walks down the street and you can smell the stuff off of her more than five feet down wind she's a little confused about the meaning of the word clean. No matter how endearing a woman's physical appearance may be, if she smells like she bathed in the stuff I instantly lose interest. Guys can smell lots of makeup just like perfume. The odor reminds me of grease paint. If guys liked the smell of plastic they'd buy inflatable dolls, they're cheaper. --- Michael J Pender Jr Box 1942 c/o W.P.I. ...
