I'm not sure if it's testosterone, but it probably is. Yes, for the first good chunk of gestation, the genitalia (or where they will be) are very similar in male and female embryo/fetuses; the structures that eventually become the ovaries or testes eventually get a message to go up and in or down and out, but there are structures that remain similar (e.g., both the penis and clitoris become erect when excited, etc.) So is the female orgasm a "leftover similarity", or is there more to it than that? Is there a professional in the house? --- fellow welloid slf@well.UUCP (Sharon Lynne Fisher) writes: >>Oh really??? That would or would not happen anyway. From talking with several women, there does seem to be a change in horniness that relates to menstruation, so I wonder what people here mean when they write "in heat", "estrus", etc: Do you mean "fertile" "horny" or both? If we mean fertile, then the period woult have something to do with being in heat. If we mean "horny", that seems to depend from woman to woman. -- Ted Swift "Why is there a watermelon there?" {hplabs,lll-crg/lcc, pacbell} "I'll explain later" !well!tswift - from "Buckaroo Banzaii"
