Try the Noose in Chelsea, 22nd(?) near 8th. I visited it for the first time last Thanksgiving and found some very nice nasties. Don't worry if you're not gay or aren't like their regular crowd for some other reason; just remember to come across as a human being anyway :-). Don't be overwhelmed by the predominance of items for people into heavy pain; there's something there for all kinds of kinks. I have to agree with the assessment of the Village, though; I was shocked at the change. We were four gentlemen dressed entirely in, uh, black formalwear; we got comments and looks when we exited the hotel at Washington Square, which is not surprising (and the comments were more approving than anything else, not that I cared), but those reactions continued until 3 blocks *west* of Sheridan Square. Can someone tell me what's happened to the New York gay crowd? Leather is obviously still spelled C-h-e-l-s-e-a, but the Village seems to have gone to pieces.
