Crucifixion is a form of bondage in which the support for the diaphragm is removed so that exhaling requires conscious effort. I called it the dangerous end of the spectrum of breath control because it can result in death. It is a form of bondage because the body must be secured in a position in which the diaphragm has no support. (This is why the Romans broke the legs of the victims, btw, because they could not then hold themselves up to give their diaphragms support.) People who are into crucifixion scenes as bottoms usually are for one (or both) of two reasons: the physiological effects of breath control, and the psychological symbolism involved. If someone had interpreted 'crucifixion' to mean snuff scenes, there do exist people who are into the concept as fantasy, and reportedly some in reality -- on both sides of the teeter-totter. It was quite obvious from my article that that was *not* what I was referring to: >>However dangerous potentially, even crucifixion can be done >>safely with the proper foreknowledge and precaution. Note the adverb which begins the second line. Actual death scenes can hardly be done safely -- nor, I imagine, would there be much point in doing so. Are we all clear, now? Once again, however, breath control of any kind should only be attempted with someone who knows what he/she is doing, and NEVER alone. -- "It is not possible to convey sarcasm to certain members of the net without using a 2x4.
