(Am I showing my age here?)  Reuben came out as a gay
man about five or ten years after he had published that
junk, you know.  He publicly ackowledged that his trash
on homosexuality was just that, and an overt product
of his own self-hatred and denial.  (I also seem to recall
something about a clash between him and his daughter 
after he came out, but nothing less vague.  Anybody out
there remember this?)
