This is my first time on this listserv group, and I hope to find a lot of interesting conversations while I'm on. I just read my mail for the day, and noticed the discussion on dollar bills and the symbols on them. I would agree that maybe the fact that "In God we trust" is possibly a put down because of the materialistic background of money, I don't agree that it is in violation of the 'Church and state' part of the Constitution. All the Constitution says about the subject is that: "Congress shall pass no laws regarding Church and state..." In other words, it only says that no laws should be made dealing with the two institutions; the two CAN mix or stay separate, but they CANNOT be required to mix or stay separate. I will be carefully following additions to the subject, but for now... Peace and God be with you, Christian Renegade (TJSTEGGA at MTUS5)
