To get into the cave at highpool, you'll need to tie the



rope to the tree.  Then somebody with the climbing skill can climb the
party down.  Once there is a different story.  There's a collapsed wall
blocking your way, that I was never able to pass.
I have no idea what to do with Red Ryder...
