And yet another is to use MAILER's distribution list support (hey, this is a VM MUA, so a VM MTA is a fine solution too). We use these rather heavilly here. For historical reasons we have supported something similar to that originally described (an external file which lists userids/nicknames to send mail to, though it didn't allow the "friendly user name" part). The mod to mailb00k is rather simple (just inserting another possible resolution for the 'name' being sent-to/included). We also have supported these same lists for sending files to NJE network recipients via a "sendfile/card/disk/print/" front-end. It is pretty flexable, though slow (due to the use of NAMEFIND :-).
