As I understand it, before release 89-02- 0A it was always possible to clobber your headers. You did get a warning message, but only after the headers were destroyed. Did this former possibility of clobbering the headers cause any serious problems? By the way, if you would do it in a very noble way, the program could save the original headers before you clobber them, check them before really sending the mail (of course only if they were changed at all) and refuse to send when the headers are rotten. It'd then be up to you to unclobber the headers, possibly by typing something to the effect of RECOVER or UNDO to again get the original headers.
