A second server was added to an existing Omninet Network, on twisted pair. The servers are AST 286 Premiums. The two servers worked as expected the first day. The second day we started having problems. People who logged in to the old server, after first attaching to the new one, could not log back in to the old server if they logged out. They got a "Server not found" message. Some people couldn't log in at all. Checking the new file server's error log revealed the message "Novell copywrite violationhas occurred. Please call your supervisor." The error was timed and dated at the time we first brought up the new server. I tried to check the serial number through SYSCON, but File Server Information was missing the last two entries, the serial number and the application number. I checked the two different boxes of Netware, and they are marked with different serial numbers. Does this sound like a case of bad software? Any comments are appreciated. PS: the local LAN administrator swears he did not mix up the boxes, and that I actually installed the new Netware in the new server.
