If you want to be sure what's going on, add the master_debug keyword to the ctcp_local channel block. You'll get a much more detailed listing of where the SMTP dialogue is failing. I'll bet it is a temporary failure opening a connection, but the debugging keyword will make sure this is the case. I have fixed this lack of information for the next release. PMDF now includes a more detailed explanation of what went wrong (or right) when an "SMTP failure" occurs. Ned
