Funny how there are one or two little bugs in an otherwise super radio. I took a little piece of foam insulation tape, the kind you stick around your windows, and stuck it on top of the memory battery. When I put in the big main batteries, which are trapped in place by the battery compartment door, the big batteries push down on the foam and hold the memory battery in better. Now it only loses memory when it takes a spark of static electricity. I have found that the frequencies I use change seasonally and as stations come and go, so any list of top frequencies will be a temporary thing.
