Note: Breaugh:400pes (TORONTO) A veteran New Democrat at Queen's Park has formally announced he's seeking the federal N-D-P nomination in Oshawa, the seat formerly held by Ed Broadbent. Mike Breaugh 1/8BREE oh3/8 has been an M-P-P since 1975, and once ran for the Ontario N-D-P leadership. Breaugh, who's 47, says feels it's time for a change. He says he has learned that sometimes in politics there's only one chance to make a run at an opening. He says either take on the challenge then or forget it. He admits he's has his differences with provincial N-D-P leader Bob Rae in the past, but says they've been patched up. Breaugh's particularly interested in such federal issues as free trade and the G-S-T. So far, Breaugh is the only declared candidate, but he expects a contest at the February 25th nomination meeting and says ``it won't be any cakewalk.'' campbell/correspondent
