	(TORONTO) Metro Toronto Chairman Alan Tonks' idea for a fan club
has a fan. Police Chief William McCormack thinks it's a great idea.
	The Metro Chairman thinks the community may be losing confidence in
its police force because of some recent incidents and the rising crime
rate.  As a result, Tonks feels maybe they're losing confidence in
themselves. 
	His idea is to creat a ``fan club'' made up of educators, judges
and community leaders.  
	Chief McCormack points out that it's not a ``rah rah'' type of fan
club being proposed.  Rather, it's a committee of concern to help bridge
some gaps.
