PEABODY, MASSACHUSETTS, U.S.A., 1990 JAN 15 (NB) -- 
PictureTel said that in 1989 it shipped more picture phone products 
to customers worldwide than any other company in the videoconferencing 
industry. A total of 570 PictureTel C-3000 codes were shipped in 
1989, compared to 102 in 1988. The company dominates the low 
bandwidth videoconferencing industry with more than 66 percent of 
the U.S. market.
