I have setup configurations where I have a Novell ethernet network running LAN Workplace software to access UNIX hosts. All pc's can simultaneousely access both the Novell server & peripherals as well as any of the UNIX hosts using TELNET & FTP. This product was designed by Excelan and was so good that Novell bought the company. I use the LAN Workplace package even when not connected to a Novell network. It's how I have my PC on the net.
