I'm talking to my end at 19200bps and I'm attempting to set up a connection at 9600bps with MNP class 6 ("High-Speed Reliable"). I have gone through the instructions beginning on page 13 of the owner's manual, but all I get when I connect to the other end (if I get a carrier at all) is "connect 2400". I see no evidence that I have a reliable 2400bps connection, nor that the two modems are upshifting to the desired rate of 9600 reliable. (Perhaps there are problems with the double-clutch?) What different switch settings and register contents should I try? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
