The USGS does not have offices in Palo Alto, close, Menlo Park. 8)
They have offices all around the country, but especially:
Tacoma, Denver, Flagstaff, etc. etc. including Reston and Menlo Park.
Check the information section of a phone book under US. Government,
Dept. of the Interior.  A fasinating agency, the first scientific
agency of any government.  Take tours.  Get to know them, lots of
stuff free, lots not free.
