Message-ID: <7548@shlump.nac.dec.com> Date: 17 Jan 90 19:21:45 GMT Sender: newsdaemon@shlump.nac.dec.com Organization: Digital Equipment Corporation Lines: 15 I happen to be new to the C++ environment and I am very surprised to find out how much it goes against the old C style (weak type checking, responsibility/discipline up to the programmer etc). I love Object Oriented programming and design but C++ seems to go well beyond the OOPS support. I would be curious to see if any of you has read, seen or heard the opinions of Mr Kernighan or Mr Richie or any of the older C gurus. Do they think C++ follows in the tradition of C or should we (non-believers) start a campaign to change its name to something that doesn't involve the magic letter C? - Nick - P.S. Hope this hasn't been discussed to death, as I was absent from the net for a while...
