  This inquiry is not strictly forth related, but the intended implementation
language is forth and Many (most?) applications of forth are embedded systems
so I figure this is a good audience.

  I would like to produce (for a client) a single-application handheld
calculator. Screen size and memory are not important issues yet. What I
would like to know is if the major calculator manufacturers contract for
such special, non-in-house applications or are there other 'foundry' type
companies out there for such production. Any other pertinent information
or suggestions would be appreciated. Please remember, at this stage I am
only interested in the manufacturability of the application, not the
details of implementation. Thanks for any help.
