Message-ID: Date: 13 Jan 90 16:58:47 GMT Sender: rfr@RFR.MACH.CS.CMU.EDU Organization: Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 39 I guess I should just post about every three days! I just answered this one last week. Anyway, at CMU Mach is running on: i386: Toshiba 5200 laptop Intel and Olivetti systems HP Vectras 68k: Sun 3 Macintosh II, SE/30, IIcx, etc. IBM RT VAX: Most models incl. multiprocessors Decstation 3100 Encore Multimax Sun 4/110 Elsewhere Mach has been ported to the Sequent Symmetry, various HP machines, various experimental IBM machines, the IBM 370, the BBN Butterfly and lots of other boxes. Currently CMU distributes Mach for the Vax, Sun 3 and IBM RT platforms. Requests shuld be send to mach@cs.cmu.edu. Soon Mt Xinu will take over primary distribution of Mach for the Vax, Sun 3 and IBM RT. They have made numerous posts on this mailing list about their releases. CMU will continue to release experimental versions of Mach to interested researchers with the next release to be the "pure kernel" version also referred to as the 3.0 release. Release of the i386 version of Mach is still under discussion. We are trying to work out the proper mechanics for the release. Once things have been worked out I will post the information to this list. -Rick
