In the process of applying all the 1.5.0 patches, which
went fairly well (with a few patches requiring /tmp to
be mounted on the hard disk to get enough space), I ran
into only one problem I couldn't get past.

That was /usr/src/commands/mined/mined1.  I didn't have
any trouble with mined2, but when I

   patch mined1.c mined1.cdif

there is a short grinding of disk, then a hard hang 
requiring a ^F9 to get out.  I haven't seen any similar
reports yet.  Suggestions?
