Since the ISODE 5.0 release, there have been a large number of changes of changes to Quipu these are summarised below. - Enhanced security (both Authentication and Access Control) - DSP security holes protected against - Better use of cached ACL lists - Protected simple authentication can be used (see recent messages to this list) - Speeding up of large searches - Size of the in core database reduced. - Use of a "malloc" that knows about the DSAs requirements. - Extended attribute handling (all the X500 attributes are now supported) - Easier to add new attribute syntaxes. - Improved scheduling. - DSP operations now fully asynchronous. - Support of "timelimit". - Use of "Quipu Application Context" for DSP links to other Quipu DSA's. - Algorthimic choice of which DSA to contact, as opposed to the random choice made in 5.0 - Two new user interfaces: "fred" and "widget2". - Removed some security holes from "dishinit". - Aligned to the standard. - Increased Robustness. - Improved manual. It is suggested anybody running a Quipu DSA updates their code to this version as soon as possible. Any discussion of these features should probably take place on the "quipu" list only. Colin
