Quite a bit of software states in a text file "Upload this file everywhere". I would assume that if this statement is placed on a piece of shareware, there would be no question about it being uploaded to Apple2-L or anywhere, for that matter. I'm not sure about the legalities of the copyright law, but it doesn't seem logical that you could forfeit the copyright of a program just by uploading it on electronic media. You may be giving someone permission to utilize your program (in this instance, Shrink-it); but you are not authorizing someone to take your program and incorporate it into their program. Most laws are written fairly; though heaven knows I'm no lawyer. UUCP: {ames!elroy, }!gryphon!pnet02!lbotez INET: lbotez@pnet02.gryphon.com
