I know that the LaserWriter II has a serial port; it's provided primarily for hookup to non-Apple equipment. For example, the dorm across the street has a 386-based server driving Mac SEs and PS/2 50s on Ethernet. A LaserWriter IINT is hooked up through the serial port. (You can't expect anything 386 to have AppleTalk, can you? :-) ) Of course the system crawls at 9600 baud (AppleTalk works at about 200K baud), but it does work. Software should be anything that works with the IIe, such as "Publish-It!"
