If you're referring to the call for creation of comp.sys.apple2.tech, I'd wager that most of the 30 "No" voters didn't think it would help. comp.sys.apple (whose name I wouldn't mind changing to comp.sys.apple2 to scare the Macintosh folks away) already serves as an unmoderated Apple II technical newsgroup. If it isn't very useful, then neither would comp.sys.apple2.tech be some time after it got rolling.
