Stephen Scott raises a good point: what exactly does Kermit do if the screen driver is set to something that the current hardware can't use (i.e., BI-80 or C-128 when being used on a standard C-64)? Ray anticipated this when he wrote Kermit, and Kermit will automatically "fall back" to the C-64 80-column hi-res screen. So, no need to worry about maintaining separate KERMIT.INI files for different hardware configurations you might be using.
