I received no responses about it specifically, but did receive a few responses about other accelerators, summarized below. I'm now throwing the floor open for other accelerators. If you've got one running in a Mac SE, I want to hear about it. Do you love it, hate it, live with it? Why? From a MacUser review, the MacPeak Orion accelerator looks quite nice. Anyone got one of those? Please e-mail, I'll summarize. Summary follows; thanks to all those who responded. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- /'') /'' / | long@mcntsh.enet.dec.com | Hey! Accelerator can be turned on / off along with instruction and data caches from a control panel which pops up when the machine boots with the mouse button down. --- TSI accelerators (phone # 800-874-2288 or 503-345-7395): Motherboard memory goes to the accelerator, and original 1MB on main board is restored. The TSIs have ports for monitors from E-Machines and another monitor manufacturer (didn't say which). --- On the SE/30 upgrade: Not really user-installable... The upgrade is quite complicated, not only do you replace the motherboard, but you also replace the steel frame that lies underneath the plastic case. This is because the SE/30's expansion slot is vertical, not horizontal, like the SE. Apple, of course, wants its old motherboard, 800K floppy, and steel frame back.
