I have used it both with a Mac SE/30 and IIc. The hardware that comes with the scanner includes a box to which the cable to the imagewriter and the cable to the scanner connect. This box also has a cable leaving it that has a 9-pin (male) plug like ----------------------- \ * * * * * / \ / \ * * * * / ----------------- For using the SE/30 this plugs into an adaptor that draws power from the external disk drive port and has a cable to plug into the printer port. For using with the IIc, the 9-pin plugs directly into the IIc joystick/mouse port. The software is probably different too, but I was able to purchase the regular Mac Thunderscan for its normal price and the software for the IIc for a small additional cost ($15 if I remember correctly). Hope this helps. Erik A. Johnson Graduate Student, Aero/Astro Engineering University of Illinois johnsone@uxh.cso.uiuc.edu
