Just a personal opinion but...

We purchased 5 copies of Communicae the terminal emulator package for the NeXT
last month.  It is one of the best pieces of software I have seen in a while.
We use it mainly for it's VTxxx emulation, and now no one in the lab even uses
NeXT's terminal or shell applications.  I could droan on but I won't.

I have no affiliation with Active Ingredients, the developers of the package.
