We're replacing our VAX 11/750 and would be grateful for a little free
advice, accumulated wisdom and opinions.

How will the DecStation 3100 perform in a multiuser environment with
several i/o intensive jobs running simultaneously?  Would a Sun
SparcStation be expected to do any better (worse)?
