Short answer:

  You probably have to get gcc working first. gcc assumes that the code
and data are in the same segment (tiny rather than small model). There
is an option to avoid this, but it doesn't seem to work right.

  I have not seen gcc for Xenix, although I would love to have someone
tell me it exists. SCO UNIX *will* run gcc, unless several people are
kidding me, but the UNIX development set includes CodeView (again people
who have it tell me), and eliminates the need for gdb unless you just
like it better.
