Has anyone seen a similar problem and solved it?

When placing a Bell Technologies ICC Multiport Card in a 25MHz 386DX
system running SCO Xenix 386 v2.3.2, login prompts come out the port
but the system never sees any input. This is not a memory cache problem
as the problem occurs with the cache turned off.
