	The following added to your startup.ps should allow you to define the
PaintRoot from NeWS. Openwin by default paints the root via X  (a change
which was made to allow xsetroot and other X root painters to work
correctly). 

UserProfile /UsePaintRoot? true ?put

	Then redefine PaintRoot to your hearts content!
