We were hacking around with it locally and found some minor bugs. First, pattern match register weren't being expanded into strings other than 'use' statements. Second, special characters weren't properly quoted when written out to .xroomsrc files. I have send the patches back to the folks at WSL. If people are interested in having the patches on a *very* unofficial basis, I may be persuaded to mail them out or post them to the net. Something else worth mentioning (because new users may find it counter-intuitive) is the way that the xrooms buttonbox works. The button box is a window like any other. That means that if you move it while in one room, it will return to its old location when in other rooms. In order to set the location of the buttonbox for all rooms, use the 'set in all rooms' option on the buttonbox menu suboption 'change states..' after you've moved it to the place that you want it to live. If that last paragraph doesn't make sense to you and you are seeing behaviour that you don't understand, send me some email and I'll try the explanation again. (For real hackery, try using the ChooseAppName stuff to set private window manager properties! It's fun and fashionable :-) Elias Israel | "Justice, n.
