Flint) | | It appears to me that whenever cron clears out /tmp, it clears out the | socket mentioned in the errors and xdm can not open the display until | it recreates the socket. | | The queston is, should I move the socket to a more stable directory so | this will not occur every time the date expires on the socket in /tmp? | Or should I not worry about it and log in more than once every so often? Or just stop cron from going down into /tmp/.X11-unix ... | Aside question: Has anyone been able to get xfig to compile, as provided | in the release of X11, Revision 4? I have the patches for xfig 1.4.3 patchlevel 5. Unfortunately, what was distributed on the R4 tape was xfig 1.4.3 patchlevel 4 ... I've been planning on putting the new tar.Z file on EXPO and GATEKEEPER (at least), but EXPO will never talk to me and GATEKEEPER refuses to let me put anything in the contrib directories ... So, I've just made the complete compressed tar available via anonymous ftp from LLL-CRG.LLNL.GOV in the directory pub/X.V11R4/contrib. It's 218245 bytes. Please remember to use binary mode when getting the file. Casey
