Elements look like (SWITCH-STRING . HANDLER-FUNCTION). HANDLER-FUNCTION receives switch name as sole arg; remaining command-line args are in the variable `args'. However, the variable referred to at the end should be "command-line-args-left", as can be seen from the code of function command-line-1, lines 196-201 in file startup.el.
