Also, are they still banned in Egypt ? I am, of course, referring to the Moslem Brothers leader persecuted by President Nasser. Qutb's writings have been most influential on the Islamic political movement in Egypt including so-called fundamentalist and extremist groups as well as the mainstream Moslem Brotherhood. According to a book I am currently reading, Qutb and the Islamic movement in Egypt have been greatly influenced by the writings of the Pakistani thinker Abu Al-'Alaa Al-Mawdudi.
