In the perl kit there is a termcap.pl in the lib directory, but since
terminfo is mainly used here I'd rather have a corresponding terminfo.pl.

I wonder if anybody out there has made such a thing, and may be willing
to send it to me.

Failing that, does anybody know in what format the "compiled" terminfo
files have, and is this format the same on all systems?
