The univ. here has reasonable discount programs for IBM & Mac available to students, faculty & staff. Unfortunately, it seems to be difficult to get an Amiga system at any of the state universities here, especially for departments, since we are required to get computer equipment through state contract and the state only contracted for Amiga systems for grades K-12 ... smart, huh. Anyway, I've been in contact with several local dealers concerning the educational discounts, and they were originally under the impression that it applied to students and teaching faculty for grades K-12 only. ??? are they just mis-reading the papers or what? If Commodore really wants to make inroads into the educational market, I would think it unwise to ignore the college/university clientel. And, IMHO, I think it would be beneficial to extend it to college/university staff as well. ... just my opinions ... Kostya LaPasha paleo@ecsvax.uncecs.edu
